Bishop’s Chapel restoration. Grade 1 listed
We have been the appointed architects to Farnham Castle since 2001, and have undertaken the most comprehensive programme of restoration and improvement at the Castle for several hundred years. Projects have included a complete external restoration of the Bishop’s Palace, 13th century curtain wall and 12th century Keep, restoration of the 17th century Bishop’s Chapel, major works to improve conference, office and residential accommodation, and new exhibition and interpretive facilities for visitors to the Castle. Projects have been awarded the Waverley Borough Council Conservation and Design Award and the Farnham Society Award, and shortlisted for the Museums Heritage Award.

Visitor Improvements
The project involved a wide range of improvements, restoration, new build and fitting out works.
The Keep dates originally from the 12th century. The Keep today is a shell keep, but originally comprised a central defensive tower, which was partially dismantled in the late 12th century. Prior to work starting the Keep was relatively unknown, and seldom visited.
The project was funded largely by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant. Extensive discussions took place with English Heritage to agree the scope of works and detailed design.
The objectives were to remove unsympathetic works undertaken in the 1960’s, restore the medieval stonework, improve visibility and accessibility to historically significant features, weather-protect the historic features with an architecturally appropriate building, and create a new disabled-accessible interpretive exhibition space.
The project was nominated for the Museum Heritage Award and is currently short-listed for the Waverley Conservation and Design Awards.

Farnham Castle Stable Block
The exhibition space in the Stable Block is part of a comprehensive Heritage Lottery funded project to restore the Keep, and improve visitor facilities and interpretive material. The project was undertaken in conjunction with UCA Farnham campus.

Cobham Rugby Club
New build sports pavilion, bar/reception and multipurpose function room.
The pavilion was partially funded by the National Sports Foundation and designed to comply with Sport England and RFU design requirements.
The 6 changing rooms have been designed and laid out to allow for a mix of male/female and adult/youth changing. The scheme included a large 1st floor bar, dining area and commercial kitchen catering for up to 150 guests. The scheme is fully DDA complaint.

Megapark Shopping Centre, Bilbao, Spain
Megapark is the largest retail development north of Madrid. When our clients bought the development much of the retail element of the scheme was vacant. We were commissioned to improve the retail element of the development, including landlord’s areas, shopfronts, and building elevations. The scheme is now full let.

Manon Café
Our service included the Manon Café logo, signage and branding, restaurant and shop design concept, and overseeing fitting out.
